Trends-Paper Lanterns

One of my favorite decor staples- Chinese Paper Lanterns. We've been using these for several years and they continue to be one of our most asked for details. They are festive, fun and create a whimisical atmoshpere in a big white wedding tent, barn or interior space.
Used in vibrant colors or all white, single strings or clusters, they are a great addition the lighting plan and mood of an event space.

Vendor Raves- Melinda Butler

I have decided to take some time out now and again to give "shout outs" to great vendor friends who are crazy, fun, creative, cool and talented.

I have to start out with my good friend, photographer Melinda Butler.

Mindy and I have been working together for years...
WOW! I think it's been close to 9 years! We have done so many awesome weddings together- from Boston to Bangor, farm fields to fancy ballrooms, "Blue Moons" to "Midsummer Night's Dreams." Mindy has photographed my Brother's, Sister's and Cousin's weddings, family parties and more clients than I can count. We always have fun together and it is great to work woth a professional who loves their job and brings not only talent but a true love for her craft to every wedding.

Cheers to you Min!

Favorite Flashbacks 2

I was flipping through some photos with one of my brides today (Sweet Sarah, my red haired twin- we seem to have the same taste in everything!) and I came across pics from Christie and Mauricio's Summer Farm wedding. What a warm thought on a cold January day!!! It was a beautiful August afternoon- the ceremony took place in a lush green field with mountain views. The tent decor was very "cottage garden"...Loved it!!!

Strawberry soup shooters! Yum!

Think warm thoughts!!!

Photo shoot for Chase Hill Event Center

I was honored last September, to be invited by Cyndi and Chris Smith of CA Smith Photography in Kennebunkport to work with them on a photoshoot for The Chase Hill Event Center, one of the White Barn Inn sister properties. The Chase Hill Event Center is a great spot for weddings and events of all types, and I was very excited to create a few Event Design looks to showcase the space.

Lots of images from our shoot are featured on the new website. Check out the new look of Chase Hill here! My favorites are the "lobsterbake" theme gallery shots.

We had a ball during the shoot and Chris even found a moment to make me look glamorous...
I am sure there were hours of photoshop used on this image. Hahaha!
Thanks again to Cyndi and Chris as well as all at Chase Hill for having me along!

Happy New Year!

Hello and Happy 2009!!!

I am so excited- 2009 is going to be a great year!

I am looking so forward to my and Henry's wedding on 4/4/09! We have been having a ball tying up the details- doing our menu tasting, brainstorming music ideas and picking out invitations. I am going to spare him the floral design and linen decisions- he has graciously allowed me carte blanche in those areas! :)

It is even more fun than I expected, being on the other side of the planning, Being the Bride! Even though I do this stuff everyday for and with my own clients, I am finding it very challenging to narrow down the bazillion options and ideas for our wedding. I keep trying to step back and focus on the areas that mean the most to us. Celebrating our new family along with my girls, Paige and Basia and showing our guests a really good time in NH!!!

Speaking of my family, here's a pic of me and my favorite people in the world. This is a shot of us this past summer at the New Britain, CT Rock Cats game. It was a great summer memory for us! I think Paigie was trying to sneak out of the shot for some reason... :)

Cheers to a wonderful 2009!

2008 reminiscing...

Tying up this year and looking forward to 2009 (my wedding is only 122 days away!) I thought I'd showcase some of my favorite moments from 2008...

Jen and Tom got married in August at the Seacoast Science Center, one of my favorite venues. You've heard of the importance of "location, location, location"- well this place has got it. I love that ocean! We did have to contend with a good 2 hours of driving rain prior to the ceremony...

This wedding reminds us all that no amount of rain can dampen the happiness of two people who are as perfect for eachother as these two. And, also that the sun is always behind those clouds!
Very special thanks to Margaret Singer for the photos...www.margaretsinger.com
Great pics, cool chick!
Cheers!

Ok, Ok, finally a blog!

Tis the season...to start the Blissful Blog!

After much consideration and prodding by friends in the industry, I guess I will give the blog a try once again. I tried once a few years back and just found that I couldn't make the time to get into it. I'll try harder this time!

Well, the year is winding down as is "Wedding Season" and I have found myself shifting gears as well as in retrospect of our great weddings and events from 2008!

First off, I want to thank all of the couples, families and vendor friends who have made this years' events so memorable! It is an honor as well as a great pleasure to work with and for you.

2008 has seen Blissful Weddings and Events of all sizes and shapes, formalities and style.

Leading off the season back in January were Kate and Dan. It was very special to coordinate and officiate for this great couple, because I asssited Kate's Dad and his wife Jane back in 2003! I felt like part of the family, being back with this fun group!
